Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mediano Music ("Mediano", "we" or "us") collects, uses and shares information about you when you use our applications and our websites (together, the "Services"), and when you contact our support team.

We may change this Policy from time to time. When we do, we revise the date above and, for significant changes, we give you additional notice in the app or on this site.

1. The short version

Mediano is built to keep your data on your device. There is no account to create, and your library, your playlists and your listening history are stored on your iPhone or iPad rather than on our servers.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

• No account to create. Mediano has no sign-up, no username and no password. You can open the app and start listening straight away.
• Optional sign-in to your own music account. If you choose, you can connect a music account you already have, so the app can reach the library and preferences that belong to you there. Sign-in happens in the provider's own secure web page — we never see or store your password — and the session stays on your device. You can disconnect it at any time in Settings, and everything else in the app keeps working without it.
• The display name and profile picture that connected account chooses to show, used only to label the account inside the app.
• Anything you write to us, including support emails and bug reports.

Information held on your device

• Your library and activity. The tracks, albums, artists, playlists, folders and radios you save, and your listening history.
• Your settings: equalizer, theme, app icon and playback preferences.
• Playback state, so the app reopens where you left off.

This data stays on the device. Deleting the app removes it.

3. Music on your device

Mediano can play audio you already own. We read your device's music library only to play and organise the files on it. Those files are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.

4. Services the app connects to

Mediano talks to other companies' services to do its job. When it does, that company receives the request and handles it under their own privacy policy:

• Music sources. Searching and streaming sends the search or track request to the service providing the audio, together with normal connection information such as your IP address.
• A music account you have connected yourself, which shares only the profile details you authorise — typically a display name and picture.
• Artwork and metadata are fetched from public sources to display covers and track details.

5. How we use information

• Provide, maintain and improve the Services, and develop new features;
• Keep your library and playback working across the app, and personalise what it recommends to you — which happens on your device;
• Reply to you when you write to support;
• Diagnose crashes and technical problems; and
• Comply with legal obligations.

6. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not show advertising in the app.
• We do not build an advertising profile of you.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.

If any of this changes — if we ever add advertising, analytics or a paid tier — we will update this Policy and the App Store privacy details before it ships, not after.

7. How we share information

We share personal data only as described here:

• Service providers acting for us, under contract and only for the purpose we give them, such as email delivery and customer support tooling;
• For legal reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Mediano, our users or others;
• In a business transfer, such as a merger, financing or acquisition; and
• With your consent or at your direction.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and retention limits. Because your library lives on your device, the strongest protection is the one you already have: keep a passcode on the device, and disconnect any connected music account before you hand the device to someone else. No system is ever completely secure.

9. Deleting your data

You can remove your data at any time, in one of two ways:

• On your device, without contacting us. Disconnect any connected music account in Settings, and delete the app. Because your library, playback history and settings are held on the device, removing the app removes them.
• By email. Write to support@medianomusic.com and we will delete anything we hold that relates to you, such as a support conversation.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Any connected session is revoked immediately, and your library, playlists, listening history and preferences go with the app when it is removed from the device. If you want a copy of your library, export it from Settings before you delete the app rather than after.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. In practice, the data the app holds lives on your device and goes when you remove the app. Records we are legally required to retain are kept for the period the law prescribes.

11. Your choices

• A connected music account can be disconnected in Settings at any time.
• Push notifications can be turned off in your device settings at any time.
• Everything the app stores can be removed by deleting the app.
• A copy of anything we hold can be requested at any time — see the section below.

12. Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, write to support@medianomusic.com and we will delete it.

13. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland

Legal bases

We process personal data only when we have a legal basis to do so:

• to perform our contract with you — providing the app and the features you use;
• for our legitimate interests — keeping the Services secure, preventing abuse, and understanding and improving how they are used;
• to comply with legal obligations; and
• with your consent, for push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time.

Your rights

Subject to the limits set by law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to receive it in a portable form, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, write to support@medianomusic.com. We answer within the period the law allows, normally one month.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. You can find your national authority through the European Data Protection Board; in Switzerland, contact the FDPIC.

International transfers

Some of the service providers we rely on operate outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. When personal data is transferred to them, we rely on an adequacy decision covering the destination country or on Standard Contractual Clauses agreed with the provider concerned.

14. If you are a California resident

In the last 12 months we collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as a device identifier, and an email address if you write to us) and internet or other electronic network activity information (such as app usage). The sources, purposes and recipients are described in the sections above.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Write to support@medianomusic.com.
